Trio Dones

Women’s classical music is an essential value to preserve and revive in our society. Throughout the history of music, women have contributed as performers of their own works, as well as by premiering the works of their contemporaries during concert tours and through their dedication to music education.

They fought for equal participation in society, yet many were forced to sign their works under male pseudonyms in order to have them published. As a result, the true authorship of certain compositions remains unclear, while other works were never published and have been lost over time.

This project aims to research, promote, and pay tribute to those women creators and composers from different eras and musical styles, such as Clara Schumann, Mel Bonis, Fanny Mendelssohn, and Louise Farrenc, among others.
